Not a digital native, I’m more of a digital hipster - into the scene long before it went broad. Digital culture blossoming from 90’s BBS’s to what we have today has been awesome and harrowing ride. I've been fortunate to catch the wave early and being paid to figure it out has just been gravy.
I've learned to tell the difference between a trend and a fad, that cool rarely beats clean, and that people really like things that work hard while looking beautiful.
I've been lucky enough to work with so many brilliant, talented people and some fantastic global companies, everyone just taking a shot at what they think the next thing should be. I've worked on products large and small and have been part of ideas that came too early, or to the wrong audience, or both. Some have left a mark in the industry, some just on me. Regardless, each success and every failure has taught me something, and that’s what I enjoy.
Most of all, I don't think any of this change is close to being over, and I'm continually excited by the possibilities that surround us. All of this technology will eventually make us better or worse, but I'm a glass-half-full kind of guy. I believe in fearless optimism bordering on foolishness because to be otherwise would be hopeless, boring, and not great at parties.
